We were first contacted by the Berners-Prices’ in January 2023. They were in the early stages of their move from their home to the beautiful Gloucestershire market town of Lechlade on Thames.
A visit from Tom
Following a visit from our director Tom, all was well, with both the quotation and plan of action being readily accepted and the booking finalised to take place in April 2023, with Peter noting “From the beginning, we were managed extremely well by Kloe and Cheryl in the office”. This was quite a complex move with a number of big and heavy planted pots and trees. As well as fine art and precious furniture for us to move.
A Sudden Change
With just over a week to go until the big move was due to start, a sudden and unexpected change to the completion date arose. With our diary looking completely full, this posed a bit of a logistical nightmare! We managed to find a way to minimise stress and swiftly made a new plan that could work. The move was now to take place in several parts over the course of a week to avoid as much disruption to them as possible. We had found a way.
House & Carriage’s packing service
Our clients had chosen our “part packing” service. This is where we carried out the careful wrapping and packing up of their precious ornaments and pictures. “Packing was executed in good humour and the pictures were especially well bound” states Peter.
The final removal
The final removal was executed “like clockwork”. The team were being led by Joe (11 years with us and counting), in a sensitive and courteous manner by all the team involved. Every attention was given to ensuring all furniture and packed boxes were placed in the correct location throughout their home, over all three floors! Peters abiding memory from this eventful move will be the “fun and laughter (the) team displayed, and good humour reigned!”.
In conclusion
Leaving our clients happy and comfortable ahead of their first night in their new home is important to us all at House and Carriage, with Peter concluding “all in all, a perfect example of customer satisfaction.” Which is exactly what we want hear ?
